The Investec Cape Town Art Fair, Africa’s largest art fair, has announced the list of exhibitors slated to participate in its 11th edition scheduled to take place from February 16 to 18, 2024, at the Cape Town International Convention Centre. This upcoming 2024 edition of the art fair is going to be a global affair, with 24 countries taking center stage. The exhibition will proudly present the works of 375 artists from a total of 54 different nationalities. A few of the galleries on this list include: Afriart gallery, 131 A gallery, Circle art gallery, Galerie Cecile fakhoury.
In addition to the 2024 lineup a new section named GENERATIONS will be introduced. Curated by Natasha Becker and Amogelang Maledu, this section is intended to celebrate artists navigating different stages in their careers. The primary aim of this section is to stimulate cross-generational dialogues among artists. This edition of the Investec Cape Town Art Fair also injects fresh perspectives and innovative voices into the vibrant tapestry of the fair by welcoming 34 new exhibitors.
Beyond the convention center walls, the Unbound City Programme will also extend the reach of art to major institutions and activate the picturesque Bo-Kaap area. This initiative seeks to create a more accessible and inclusive space for the public to immerse themselves and engage with art in a broader context. It is worthy of note to also mention that the art speed dating sessions and the curator’s programme are set to make a comeback.
The Investec Cape Town Art Fair serves as a meeting point for art galleries, collectors, curators, and artists from all over the world who are in the contemporary art scene. It has not only proven to be a space where the fast-growing African art market meets the international art world, it also offers an intimate experience of one of the most unique art cities in the world.
