Among the featured artists are luminaries whose names have become synonymous with the nation’s artistic identity. This includes Babmbo Sibiya (b.1986) whose work draws on traditional printmaking techniques and works with acrylic and charcoal on canvas. Sibiya’s work centres around the spirit of ‘Ubuntu Ngabantu’, a term deriving from Zulu philosophy and translating roughly into ‘I am what I am because of who we all are’. Sibiya’s ‘Portrait of a Fashionista’ is set to sell for R70000 -R100000.
