St. Moritz Art Film Festival is inviting filmmakers to send in their work for their second edition. The submission of films is open from 1 January to 31 May 2023.
The St. Moritz Art Film Festival is the first festival in the world dedicated to films by artists and directors of arthouse movies and also the first festival to bring film and video artworks to the Canton of Grisons in Switzerland.
Filmmakers are expected to submit arthouse films or videos of various genres, lengths, and targets with the goal of innovating and displaying creative uniqueness in relation to their theme for 2023: ‘Becoming-Landscape.’ There will be public conversations that will include directors, actors, and art and culture figures with each film.

The films are divided into two categories.
The first category is Films in Competition. These films include only world premieres of feature-length or video art films that were completed after September 1st, 2021. These films are only eligible if they have not had any form of commercial distribution or online exhibition, and they have never been screened in public or the press.
An international jury of five cinema and culture professionals from all over the world will award the following prizes: Love at First Sight Award, Best Film by an Artist Award, and Best Arthouse Film Award.
The second category is Films Out of Competition. This is so that some of the most important works of the year are presented in this category, which is the non-competing section. The films and video works selected upon invitation by the artistic director may include works by established writers who have already participated in other festivals or have been screened in museums.
The requirements are:
- All the movies and video works must be sent with English subtitles.
- All works submitted must be uploaded in DCP Packaging Format on this link.
- All the material required for the website of the Festival (200-word synopsis, cast and credits, 200-word biography and a complete filmography of the director, one 300 dpi photograph of the director, and one 300 dpi still image of the work in colour) on this link.

This year, the festival will be held in St. Moritz, Switzerland from August 31st to September 3rd, 2023.
