French-Moroccan artist Samy Snoussi presents My Hand, Your Eyes, the Third Space, the artist’s first solo exhibition at Loft Art Gallery, Marrakech.
With a collection of previously unseen works, the artist explores the links between body art and sociology through the primordial gesture of writing. This way, the artist reconnects with matter and restores the symbolic significance of gesture using various media such as paper, canvas , stone , clay and metal. He creates a unique language where words are useless and meaning is perceptible on a more spiritual level. In an obsessive iteration of the experimental gesture, the creations reveal an embodied process where form, texture and movement become the imprint and language of the living.

Samy Snoussi as an artist is upfront with the fact that he struggles with writing and he has used this to propel his artistic approach forward. For him, language is a place of tension, where each graphic gesture is a claim of the body in a rigid space. His practice challenges this rigidity, revealing personal and collective narratives, by offering a poetic and subversive alternative to established structures.
In this approach, the gesture is not only a physical action, but a message, an affirmation of the existence of the living, in a world that sweeps away meaning to focus only on writing. By transcending formal and literal language, Snoussi questions our ability to perceive the essence of things, to read between the lines, to feel beyond conventions.
