Lagos Gallery Weekend Unveils 2025 Edition: Celebrating Art, Culture, and Lagos

Lagos Gallery Weekend (LGW) is thrilled to announce its 2nd upcoming edition, a citywide celebration of art, culture, and community. Scheduled to take place from 28th – 30th March 2025, this year’s event brings together 20 Galleries and 5 Cultural Institutions located in Lagos City, all of whom will feature exciting exhibitions, performances and tours showcasing Lagos’ vibrant artistic landscape. This year’s edition promises an immersive experience where creative connections, dialogue will be expressed between artists, collectors, art enthusiasts and more!

Discover Lagos Through Art
LGW invites attendees to explore the rich tapestry of Lagos’ art scene, with galleries across the city opening their doors to transformative exhibitions and immersive storytelling. This year’s theme, “Discover Lagos Through Art,” emphasizes the dynamic fusion of tradition and contemporary expression that defines the city’s creative spirit.

Special Highlights

Featured Artists: Notable artists such as Gerald Chukwuma (Gerald Chukwuma), Emma Prempeh (Tiwani Contemporary), Obinna Makata (Soto Gallery) will present new works that delve into themes of identity, memory, and cultural heritage. LGW Hub: The Central gathering point for the weekend, the LGW Hub, will be located at Gather House. As a location that will allow visitors to engage with our brand in a variety of ways, it will function as a marketplace, offering a selection of art and craft vendors; a workshop hub, providing hands-on opportunities for creative expression; and a library, where attendees can explore a curated collection of art books and resources. Curate Your Route: Attendees are encouraged to personalize their LGW experience by curating their own routes through the city’s galleries and exhibitions through our website . This approach allows for a unique and tailored journey, ensuring that each visitor can engage with the art and culture that resonates most with them.

Curated Tours: The LGW Tours will be available in collaboration with Chisco Transport and will commence from Friday 28th-Sunday 30th March. All tour schedules will be shared by March 14th 2025. Tour Buses will leave from the Hub Area for the entire weekend. Each route has been carefully designed to give visitors a comprehensive view of Lagos, from its contemporary art scene to its rich heritage. Tickets can be bought online from March 18th 2025 or at the LGW Hub during the Gallery Weekend.
