Accra, Ghana – dot.ateliers, an initiative founded by acclaimed artist Amoako Boafo, is pleased to announce the open call for artists to participate in the 2025 Artist Residency Program. This opportunity invites artists, with a primary focus on painting and drawing, to immerse themselves in an inspiring and supportive environment in the heart of Accra, Ghana.
What the Residency Offers:
- Coverage of travel expenses to Accra for the residency
- Materials stipend
- Dedicated studio space
- Accommodation in Accra city center, just minutes from the residency space
- Opportunities for community engagement with both creatives and the larger South Labadi area
- Open studio opportunities
- Participation in a group show at the end of the year.
Who Can Apply:
Artists over 18 of all backgrounds, genders, and nationalities are encouraged to apply. Applicants should demonstrate a commitment to pushing their creative boundaries and engaging with the residency community.
How to Apply:
To apply, please submit the following materials via the application portal on our website:
1. A single PDF document containing:
- 5 to 10 artworks with details for each piece (Tile, Medium, Year, Dimensions)
- Artist statement
- Biography
- CV
- Contact details for two references (email and/or phone number)
2. A video introduction or a Cover letter introducing oneself and reason for applying to the residency
3. A single headshot of the artist

Selected artists will be responsible for their upkeep. This is an exceptional opportunity to delve into unexplored dimensions of creativity and connect with like-minded artists.

Sadikou oukpedjo 2023 resident shares thoughts on his experience, “J’ai apprécié mon séjour ici pour explorer Accra et la redécouvrir. La langue était un obstacle mineur et les gens aimaient découvrir mon travail.” “I enjoyed my time here exploring accra, and rediscovering it. Language was a minor barrier but people enjoyed discovering my work. ” – Sadikou Oukpedjo
Dzidefo Amegatsey 2023 resident while reflecting on his time at dot.ateliers said, “The amount of space available in the studio was the largest I have ever had the opportunity to use. It pushed me to grow the scale of my works and do the studio space and the opportunity it represented justice” – Dzidefo Amegatsey
