Nike Art Gallery is well known in Lagos, Nigeria as an art gallery that showcases and promotes not only Nigeria, but art from all over the continent. It is founded by Nike Davies-Okundaye; a prominent Nigerian textile designer and artist. She known as Nike or fondly, Mama Nike.

This new episode features Mama Nike in conversation with the host; Jonas Schwarz Lausten on the podcast; Studio Visits; Nigeria. Nike shares about her journey through art, inspiration and being one of the forerunners in Nigeria’s contemporary art scene. Nike Davies-Okundaye is well known for her knowledge and artistry in traditional dyeing techniques which reflects the rich heritage of Nigerian culture. Her gallery which was established in 2008 has played a key role in the growth and appreciation of african art home and away.
