The SheArts Festival will stage its fifth edition from 2 to 5 October 2025, bringing performances and exhibitions to Cairo, Alexandria, and Egypt’s New Administrative Capital.

Since its launch in 2016, the festival has stood out as the only multidisciplinary event in the Middle East and North Africa that focuses entirely on women in the arts. This year, it will present music, theatre, dance, visual art, film, and workshops, while also drawing artists from Egypt, Lebanon, Spain, Italy, Hungary, Germany, France, Brazil, Palestine, and Sudan.

Organisers announced that Lebanese singer Hiba Tawaji, Egyptian veteran Aida El Ayoubi, and the Spanish all-female band Maruja Limón will headline the programme. In addition, the internationally known Ayoub Sisters will make their festival debut, performing alongside Egyptian musician Lily Farid.

Events will take place at the American University in Cairo’s Tahrir Campus, the French Institute in Alexandria, and the Madinat al-Fonoun (City of the Arts) in the New Administrative Capital. The programme will also include film screenings, masterclasses, and the SheArts Music Competition, which invites female musicians across Egypt to perform and compete.

Festival director Rania Yehia explained that this year’s edition aims to expand its reach. She noted that the team worked to balance “established names with emerging voices” while spreading events across multiple cities.

Over the past decade, SheArts has consistently highlighted women’s creative contributions in a region where their representation remains limited.
