Afriart Gallery Opens Call for Artists Across Africa

Afriart Gallery, a leading hub for contemporary art in East Africa, announced a new opportunity for artists across the continent. The gallery now invites submissions of high-quality editioned artworks for inclusion in its Curated Editions Collection.

Since its founding in 2002, Afriart has championed African creativity by hosting exhibitions, mentoring artists, and participating in international art fairs. With this initiative, the gallery strengthens its mission to amplify African voices on the global stage while creating meaningful opportunities for artists and collectors alike.

Editioned works such as prints, lithographs, and multiples offer exclusivity while remaining accessible. For collectors, they provide an affordable entry point into African contemporary art. For artists, they expand reach without compromising artistic integrity.

Who Can Apply

The gallery welcomes submissions from professional artists who live and work on the African continent and have also produced editioned works of exceptional quality

Selected works will join Afriart’s curated collection and may appear in exhibitions in Kampala and abroad. They will also feature on the gallery’s digital viewing platforms, connecting artists directly with international collectors. In close collaboration with the Afriart team, artists will ensure each edition meets the highest production standards. In special cases, the gallery may provide production support.

Over the past two decades, Afriart has nurtured talents such as Sungi Mlengeya and Godwin Champs Namuyimba, who have since gained international recognition. The Curated Editions Collection continues that legacy while responding to the rising demand for editioned African art.

The call for submissions remains open until September 30, 2025. Full submission guidelines and deadlines are available here.
