The Nigerian Economic Summit Group (NESG) and the Africa Art Fund have launched an Art Competition to amplify Nigeria-based artists’ voices. This initiative not only celebrates artistic expression but also empowers young creators to envision a future rooted in collaboration, growth, and stability—key elements for Nigeria’s progress.

With the theme “Collaborative Action for Growth, Competitiveness, and Stability,” the competition invites artists to explore and interpret the concepts of design and sustainable development. Participants should present works that also showcase their unique visions for Nigeria’s future, highlighting how collective effort can transform and build a prosperous nation.

Open to a broad spectrum of artistic mediums—including painting, drawing, sculpture, woodwork, bronze, mixed media, and beyond—this competition fosters creativity without boundaries. It also welcomes collaborative submissions, adding an extra layer of depth to the artistic discourse.

The competition exclusively targets Nigeria-based artists aged 35 and under, requiring parental or guardian consent for participants under 18. Key dates will guide the event’s progression toward a prestigious exhibition at the 30th Nigerian Economic Summit, where they will reveal and celebrate the winners.

The competition offers substantial rewards, with the first-place winner receiving N3 million, the second-place winner N2 million, and the third-place winner N1 million. In addition, an Emerging Artist Award will recognize outstanding talents under 18, and Special Recognition awards will honour exceptional contributions.

Deadline for submissions is 14th September 2024.
