Moroccan Art Exhibition Strengthens Cultural Bonds with Gibraltar

The upcoming ‘Isthmus’ Exhibition, a collaboration between Gibraltar Cultural Services (GCS), Gallery Kent Tangier, and the JM Memorial Foundation, will be showcasing Moroccan art at the Gustavo Bacarisas Gallery.

Running from February 20 to March 9, 2024, this event marks a significant stride in the ongoing cultural exchange between Gibraltar and Tangier. It signifies a commitment outlined in the Government’s manifesto to foster cultural projects for Gibraltar’s sustained cultural development.

Renowned Moroccan artists Abdelkrim Ouazzani, Ilias Selfati, and Mohamed Benyaich are set to exhibit their curated works. The initiative aims to forge connections between the two regions across the Straits.

In addition to the exhibition, GCS is collaborating with these international artists to organize workshops and lectures in Gibraltar. These activities are specifically designed for the local art community and educational institutions. It provides an enriching opportunity for cultural exchange and artistic engagement.
