Nigerian artist Zida Kalu launches adii, a label of silk scarves. Inspired by the creative vision of its founder, adii is a vibrant and artistic scarf label. The label was birthed as a tribute to her late brother, Chu, who was a constant supporter of her art.
As an artist, Zida uses the label to bring her distinctive and captivating designs to life through the medium of scarves, transforming them into wearable works of art. The label is a passion project for the artist. To merge her interest in art and fashion, each scarf is a testament to her creativity, featuring her original paintings and illustrations.
The statement reads:
“At adii, we believe that fashion is a powerful means of self-expression, and our scarves serve as a canvas for individuals to showcase their personal style and individuality. Each adii scarf is carefully crafted with meticulous attention to detail, ensuring that every piece embodies the essence of beauty, and creativity. By choosing adii, you are not only acquiring a beautiful and thoughtfully crafted scarf but also supporting the vision of an independent artist.”
Each design in the series will be made in a limited edition of 20. While the official debut date was July 15, 2023, pre-order spaces have been made available, and Kalu is offering a 20% discount on the order to the first 20 customers as a special thank you.
