A NEW EXHIBITION EXPLORING THE SPIRIT OF THE TIMES 

AMG Projects is pleased to present THAT DAY WILL COME an exploration of the mindset of restless youth in light of recent events. 

Showcasing the works of three contemporary Nigerian artists – Julius Agbaje, Joel Arueya, and Jefferson Jonahan – the pressing issues of our times are top of mind for this group of artists with each of them bringing a unique perspective to the show. 

Renowned for his bold and compelling canvases, Agbaje’s art delves into the complex realities of society; urging viewers to confront urgent issues and consider fresh approaches. Employing a distinctive style that features strong brushstrokes and rich color palettes, Agbaje’s work demands attention and provokes thought.

With satire and social commentary as the ever-present cornerstone; Joel Arueya presents a fresh and original take on life in Nigeria. His meticulously crafted compositions capture the beauty and force that surround us even in the most difficult circumstances. Replete with vibrant colors and intricate details, he adds depth to his commentary, making his art accessible and engaging to audiences of all backgrounds.

Drawing inspiration from various sources, including current affairs, modern design movements, and art history. Jefferson Jonahan constantly pushes the boundaries of what is possible in his practice. His art is infused with intellectual rigor and a commitment to creating something truly unique and meaningful. Jonahan has the remarkable ability to seamlessly merge traditional techniques and materials with contemporary elements to create pieces that are both visually striking and conceptually thought-provoking. His work challenges viewers to confront the complexities of the past and present and to consider how we can move forward without losing sight of our shared history.
