Discovering the Richness of African Art at the Philadelphia Museum Center

The Philadelphia Museum of Art will establish the first-ever Center for African Art in the US. It will showcase more than 5,000 African artworks in a state-of-the-art facility. The center will also include a library, research center, educational programs, lectures, workshops, and performances.

In 2024, the center will open and draw scholars, artists, and visitors worldwide. Many view it as significant for studying and appreciating African art, often overlooked by Western institutions.
